Android 15 to Roll Out for Pixel Phones on October 15: Supported Models and Rumors

Android 15 to Roll Out

Android 15 expected to launch for Pixel phones on October 15. Learn which models will get the update and the potential release delays.

This year, the Pixel 9 series launched without Android 15, which is unusual. Typically, Google pairs new Android versions with Pixel phones. After the Pixel 9 launch, Android 15 appeared on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Now, it’s about to roll out to Pixel smartphones. Here’s the rumored release date and the models getting the update..

Android 15 Release Date (Rumor)

According to AndroidHeadlines, Android 15 is expected to be released for Pixel phones on October 15th. This lines up with earlier reports suggesting an October release.

Google typically releases Android updates on Mondays. However, since October 14th is Columbus Day, a U.S. holiday, the update might be pushed to October 15th. This delay could allow Google to fix any last bugs, ensuring a smoother update.

Which Phones Will Get the Update?

The report says that Tensor-powered Pixel phones will be the first to get the Android 15 update. This includes the Pixel 6 series (released in 2021) and newer models.

There’s still uncertainty about when other phone brands will release Android 15 updates. For example, Samsung was supposed to roll out One UI 7.0 (based on Android 15) in July, but it’s been delayed. A Samsung community moderator mentioned they’ll announce a new date once it’s confirmed.

OnePlus is expected to launch the OxygenOS 15 beta later this month or early next month. Other Android brands will likely announce their Android 15 updates at the same time.
