Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the event will announce the AirPods Max 2. It is expected to offer better ANC and adaptive audio compared to the original AirPods Max. Apple is also rumored to switch from its usual lightning port to a USB Type-C port for this device.

It’s not clear yet whether Apple will change the design or colors of the AirPods Max 2. Since its 2020 launch, the AirPods Max has had only small software updates. Its hardware has not changed.

Other Expected Apple Launches

In addition to the AirPods Max 2, Apple might refresh other products in its AirPods lineup. This could include a new low-end AirPods 4 model. According to reports, Apple’s AirPods made up 32% of sales in 2023, showing their popularity.

However, there won’t be any updates for the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) until next year. In 2025, Apple may redesign the AirPods Pro case and earbuds and could improve audio quality.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to be the event’s star. The Pro models will have new Apple Intelligence, Apple’s AI for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
