Apple’s iOS 18 will include ChatGPT integration, enhanced Siri capabilities, and advanced AI features. Expected release in September.
New Apple Intelligence Features Coming Soon with iOS 18
Apple unveiled new intelligence features for iOS 18 and other software at WWDC 2024 in June. However, these features are not yet available. Notably, it will integrate ChatGPT, expected by the end of 2025.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently announced that ChatGPT will be added to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia by year’s end. This was during an earnings call, as reported by MacRumors. We expect iOS 18 to launch for iPhones in September.
When the update launches, Siri will start using ChatGPT for some questions. It will also help write texts, emails, and more. Meanwhile, users can create images in different styles with the new GPT-4o model. Access to ChatGPT will be free and no OpenAI sign-up is needed. However, ChatGPT Plus members can link their accounts for extra features.
AI Bots for All
Apple initially promised ChatGPT integration by year-end. This announcement confirms the timeline is on track. There were concerns about delays for some Apple Intelligence features beyond the iPhone 16 and iOS 18 launch.
Apple plans to enhance Siri with more AI bots, similar to Google Gemini. Its team aims to match Siri’s capabilities with ChatGPT and Gemini.
Right now, only a few Apple Intelligence features are in the iOS 18.1 developer beta. This version isn’t for everyday use. Most users should wait for the final update.
We expect to hear more about Apple Intelligence and its release date at the iPhone 16 launch event, likely in September. Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch 10 and the finished version of iOS 18 at the same time.
