Exynos 2500 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: Performance and GPU Benchmark Results Revealed

Exynos 2500 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Exynos 2500 GPU benchmarks show slight improvements over Exynos 2400 but still trail Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Will Samsung choose Exynos for Galaxy S25?

Earlier this year, the specs for Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chip were revealed. There were also rumors of development delays. The Exynos 2500 10-Core chip recently appeared in the Basemark GPU benchmark. It showed the performance of its new Xclipse 950 GPU.

The test was done on a Samsung test device (model S5E9955 ERD) running Android 15. It has a Quad HD+ screen (3200 x 1440 pixels) and 16GB of RAM.

The scores in the benchmark were:

Exynos 2500
  • Sacred VRS Vulkan 1.3: 2602
  • Expedition Vulkan 1.0: 5917
  • Sacred Path Vulkan 1.3: 2496

These scores are better than the Xclipse 940 GPU in the Exynos 2400. But, they are lower than the Adreno 750 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It’s expected that the Exynos 2500 will perform better when used with phones that have a FHD+ screen.

The Exynos 2500 has a base clock speed of 2GHz, similar to the previous version, likely with 4 ARM A520 CPUs. It’s said to use 3 ARM A720 CPUs and Cortex X5 Prime Cores clocked at up to 3.3GHz.

Despite the tests, rumors say Samsung might use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip in all Galaxy S25 models. It has better AI performance than Samsung’s Exynos chip.

We won’t know for sure about an Exynos Galaxy S25 until we see some benchmarks. They usually appear a few weeks before the phone’s launch.
