Google’s latest innovations from the 2024 event: Pixel 9 phones, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds Pro 2, featuring enhanced AI and upgraded features.
At the “Made by Google 2024” event in Mountain View, California, Google unveiled its Pixel 9 phones, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds 2 Pro. The spotlight was on Gemini AI, now available on all new devices. The latest wearables also received upgrades. Here’s a summary of the key announcements.
Google Pixel 9 Series
The Pixel 9 series has four models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold. All run on the Tensor G4 chipset. However, they differ in cameras and displays. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro offer a mix of wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold boasts a unique camera setup.
All models have AI features. However, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is unique. It supports SplitScreen multitasking. Plus, it offers a year of Google One AI Premium. This includes advanced tools like Gemini in Gmail and Docs, and 2 TB of storage. All Pixel 9 models get seven years of Android OS and security updates.
Pixel Buds Pro 2
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 now boast improved Active Noise Cancellation and AI features. They are powered by Google’s Tensor A1 chip, enhancing audio and AI functionalities.
Google says the new ANC system blocks twice as much noise. Also, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 work seamlessly with Google’s AI, Gemini, allowing hands-free voice commands.
Pixel Watch 3
The Pixel Watch 3 comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Google has upgraded the display from AMOLED to Actua. Now, it supports brightness from 1 to 2,000 nits. Key features include Auto Bedtime Mode, heart rate tracking for runners, and Loss of Pulse Detection.
