Motorola unveils the Moto S50 in China, a rebranded Moto Edge 50 Neo. It features a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 6.36-inch display, and 50MP triple cameras. Priced from $310.
Motorola has launched the Moto S50 in China. It’s a rebranded Moto Edge 50 Neo. But, it’s different from the Moto S50 Neo, which launched in June.
The Moto S50 is exclusive to China. However, international buyers can opt for the Moto Edge 50 Neo, which is similar. The Moto S50 Neo offers three Pantone colors and two memory options: 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage. The starting price is about $310 (€280). The larger model costs around $350 (€320). Both are sold on Lenovo’s website.
The main difference between the Moto S50 and Moto S50 Neo is the processor. The Moto S50 has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, while the Moto S50 Neo uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.
The displays are also different. The Moto S50 has a smaller 6.36-inch LTPO P-OLED display. It supports HDR10+ and has a 120Hz refresh rate. The Moto S50 Neo has a larger 6.7-inch P-OLED display with the same features.
The Moto S50 has a triple camera setup. It has a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The Moto S50 Neo, however, has a dual camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.
The Moto S50 also has a smaller battery at 4,310mAh, compared to the Moto S50 Neo’s 5,000mAh battery. Plus, the Moto S50 doesn’t have a microSD card slot for extra storage.
The Moto S50 Neo is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. It has a 32MP selfie camera, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and runs on Android 14.
