Pixel 9a to feature a redesigned look and Tensor G4 chip, but will retain the same modem, potentially keeping connectivity issues.
Google’s Pixel “a” series is popular for its price and performance. Some mid-range models even drew buyers away from pricier options.
The Pixel 8a improved on this. Its display and camera matched the Pixel 8 more closely than expected. This made the Pixel 8 seem less necessary, given its higher price.
Pixel 9a Won’t Get the Tensor G4 Chip
However, reports suggest changes for the Pixel 9a. It might get the new Tensor G4 processor but will stick with the Exynos Modem 5300 from the Pixel 8 series.
This could keep prices steady. But, it also means past connectivity issues might continue. Google’s flagship models fixed these problems with the Exynos Modem 5400. They added a Satellite SOS feature for emergencies.
A New Design for the Pixel “a” Series
Details on the Pixel 9a are scarce. Yet, leaks hint at a bigger screen, thinner bezels, and a new camera design. The phone could be slimmer, a welcome change from previous bulkier models.
Still, these updates might not set the Pixel 9a apart from pricier models. As the Pixel 9a is set to launch in the first half of next year, we’ll have to wait for more details.
