Qualcomm launches Snapdragon X Plus 8-core SoC for PCs, offering 61% faster performance and AI capabilities, starting at USD 799.
Before IFA 2024, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core SoC for Copilot+ PCs. This follows a 10-core version released earlier this year.
Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core Overview:
The Snapdragon X Plus 8-core SoC uses the Qualcomm Oryon CPU. It is 61% faster than competitors, who need 179% more power to match its peak performance. Like other chips in the Snapdragon X series, it’s built on a 4nm process node.
Qualcomm claims its CPU is 22% faster than its rivals’ at the same power level. Its competitors need 121% more power to reach their peak performance. For multi-thread performance, the Snapdragon X Plus is 41% faster. Competitors need 124% more power to match it.
The integrated GPU can support three external monitors. It offers great graphics and immersive visuals. The SoC also includes the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. It can do 45 TOPS. It is for advanced AI applications, boosting on-device AI.
Availability:
Starting today, PCs from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung will be available. They are powered by the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core. Prices start at USD 799 (about INR 67,105), according to Qualcomm.
