Realme to Unveil New 300W Fast Charging Tech and GT 7 Pro at 828 Fan Fest

Realme's New Fast Charging

Realme will reveal its latest 300W fast charging technology and the new GT 7 Pro at the 828 Fan Fest in Shenzhen on August 14.

Realme will unveil its latest fast charging technology on August 14, as announced on Thursday. The reveal is set for the 828 Fan Fest in Shenzhen, China, from August 13-15. While details are sparse, a 300W fast charging feature is anticipated. This was hinted at by Francis Wong, Realme’s Global Marketing Director, in June.

Realme’s New Fast Charging Technology

Realme will launch four innovations: more power, better batteries, smaller converters, and higher efficiency. This event will take place at its headquarters. Moreover, the company plans to unveil advancements in artificial intelligence, performance, and imaging to enhance the smartphone experience.

The new 300W system is expected to charge a battery from 0 to 50% in under three minutes and fully in five. Currently, the Realme GT Neo 5 offers 240W fast charging in China. It charges its 4,600mAh battery to 50% in four minutes and to 100% in under ten.

Interestingly, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, showcased a similar 300W system in February. It charged a modified Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition’s 4,100mAh battery in under five minutes. Named the “300W Immortal Second Charger,” this technology is not yet available in mass-market smartphones.

Besides the fast charging reveal, Realme is also set to launch the GT 7 Pro smartphone. It is confirmed for India in the second half of 2024. This phone might be among the first to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
