Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 14 series in China later this month. They’ve begun teasing the new phones and showcasing their designs. Here’s the latest:
Redmi Note 14 Pro Design Teased
Xiaomi announced on Weibo that the Redmi Note 14 series will debut next week. They also revealed a teaser with the phones’ back design.
The new series will feature a different camera module. It will shift from the square design of the Redmi Note 13 to a rounded square, or “squircle.”
The teaser shows two phones, one green and one white, each with distinct camera designs. One phone has sensors that blend into the module, framed in metal. The other has larger, more visible sensors.
Xiaomi claims the new series will be more durable. It is expected to have better drop and water resistance, possibly with a higher IP rating. Last year, only the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ had the IP68 rating. The others were rated IP54.
Redmi’s General Manager, Thomas Wang, hinted at longer battery life for the new phones.
Fast Charging Details
A certification listing has leaked details about the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ fast charging. According to GizmoChina, it will feature 90W fast charging. This is a drop from the 120W of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+.
The lower speed might be due to a larger battery in the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. Meanwhile, the regular Redmi Note 14 is expected to boost its charging speed from 33W to 45W.
That’s all for now. More updates are likely as the launch date approaches.
